Lamoille Valley Rail Trail

Located directly across the street from This Wonderful Place, the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail is a historic treasure extending across some of Northern Vermont's most beautiful landspaces.

It's a four-season, multi-purpose recreational and educational corridor. Perfect for walking, biking, snow shoeing, horseback riding, snowmobiling and running.

Turn left on the trail and in about 1.5 miles you'll be in downtown Morrisville.

Green River Reservoir State Park

Green River Reservoir State Park provides camping and paddling experiences in a remote setting. This park is wild and undeveloped. The 653-acre reservoir includes about 19 miles of shoreline, one of the longest stretches or shorelines in Vermont.

Access to the park is in the southern part of the reservoir off of Green River Dam Road.

Kayaks and canoes may be rented nearby.

Lake Elmore

856 VT Route 12
Lake Elmore, VT 05657

The Town of Lake Elmore calls itself “The Beauty Spot of Vermont.” Elmore Mountain rises almost from the lake’s shore. Lake Elmore is 219 acres, and lies northwest of the village and empties into the Lamoille River through Pond Brook. Elmore Mountain is in the "Worcester Range" and its timber is mostly hardwood. The mountain has an elevation of 2,608 feet.

There are hiking trails leading to the top of Elmore Mountain and the fire tower, a large, sandy beach great for swimming, boat rentals and a CCC-built beach house with bathrooms and changing rooms and a concession stand selling park merchandise and light fare.
